    Industry and metalworking impose operating constraints that conventional buildings struggle to meet: heavy loads, sensitive products, interventions in ICPE or ATEX classified environments. The shipping container, designed to withstand the most demanding conditions of sea transport, precisely meets these requirements on every production site.

    A robust container creates an enclosed store near the workshop or dock. It protects parts from rain, dust and unauthorized access, while keeping materials available for production.

    Maintenance saves time when tools, consumables and spare parts are stored as close as possible to the machines.

    A container fitted out as a workshop can include workbenches, storage, electricity, lighting and ventilation. It becomes a mobile technical base for interventions, scheduled shutdowns or lines far from the central store.

    Industrial operations involve oversized parts, bulky equipment and specific access needs that standard containers cannot handle. The Open Top, Flat Rack and open side models were selected because they offer openings suited to overhead crane loading, side handling and storage of large equipment without height constraints.

    • ICPE regulations

      Storing polluting or hazardous products may require suitable containment. The type of tray, usable volume and interior layout depend on the products stored and the rules applicable to the site.

    • ATEX standards (Explosive Atmospheres)

      In the presence of solvents, dust or flammable vapors, the ATEX risk must be assessed. Electrical equipment, ventilation and accessories must be chosen according to the zone classification.

    • The Labor Code

      Containerized workshops must meet the safety requirements applicable to workstations: lighting, ventilation, access, electrical protection, circulation and evacuation according to the intended use.

    Can a container floor support very heavy machinery?

    Yes, provided the total load, point load and floor distribution are checked. For machines with concentrated support points, a steel reinforcement or a Flat Rack-type solution may be required.

    Can a container be converted into a paint booth?

    Yes, a container can be fitted out as a paint booth or technical area, but the project must include ventilation, filtration, suitable electrics, solvent management and an ATEX assessment if needed.

    How do you load 6-meter-long steel beams?

    For beams or long parts, an open side model makes side loading with a forklift easier. An Open Top or Flat Rack may also be more suitable if the site uses an overhead crane or if the load exceeds the container's dimensions.
