In detail
What is a used 10 ft Dry shipping container?
The used 10 ft Dry shipping container is the most compact of the standard shipping containers, bought back from the global fleet after several years of service. "Dry" means a classic closed container, with no insulation or refrigeration. Reconditioned at our French depots, it remains fully operational for storage as well as transport.
Its Corten steel walls, a self-weathering steel that resists corrosion on its own, have kept their integrity: rigid frame, inspected floor, re-tested watertightness. A few cosmetic marks, worn paint, lashing marks, light surface oxidation, are evidence of its history without taking anything away from its function.
In detail
How is a used container inspected?
Before sale, each unit undergoes a full inspection at the depot. Watertightness is tested by water spraying; the structure is inspected against the light, from the inside, to spot the smallest gap. The floor is replaced if degraded, and the doors adjusted if needed.
The CSC plate, Convention for Safe Containers, is then reissued by an accredited body, which authorizes continued maritime use. The original ISO 6346 identification code, engraved on the doors, remains valid. Used containers thus offer a certified container at an entry-level price.
Applications
Uses of a used 10 ft Dry shipping container
The 10 ft format combines the qualities of the maritime standard in a minimal footprint, at a reduced acquisition cost.
The applications below show in which contexts this format is most relevant. Each use links the on-site need to the container's concrete benefit.
Highlights
Why buy a used 10 ft Dry shipping container
The used 10 ft Dry is the most economical entry point to a certified shipping container. The strengths below show what depot reconditioning concretely guarantees; and why a few cosmetic marks take nothing away from function when the goal is storage, not display.
The strengths below explain what each technical choice brings to the project. They help compare the product with a less specialized alternative or a different condition.
-
Accessible price
This is the entry price of the certified shipping container, well below a first-trip new unit. For storage use, the budget savings go straight back into the project.
-
Prior inspection
Watertightness, structure and closures are checked at the depot before every delivery. The unit is not sold "as is": it is inspected and returned to service, with defects addressed.
-
Re-validated compliance
The CSC plate is reissued by an accredited body after inspection, authorizing continued maritime use. The used unit therefore remains a certified container, not a simply downgraded box.
-
Universal format
The unit travels on a standard flatbed truck, with no escort or special permit. It is set down by crane truck in a single rotation, which limits delivery cost.
-
Sustainable choice
Buying used extends the life of steel already manufactured and avoids producing a new unit. It's a consistent, measurable approach for organizations committed to their environmental footprint.
-
Preserved versatility
Storage, transport, workshop or shelter all fit in a single product. The reconditioned box retains all the robustness of the maritime standard, whatever use is chosen.

What is the price of a used 10 ft Dry shipping container
The used 10 ft segment follows the global secondary market; even more volatile than that of larger formats, since volumes are more limited.
Four factors drive these prices:
The factors below explain why the price can vary from one quote to another. They help you read a quote by distinguishing the product price, availability, and delivery costs.
