A Pallet Wide container is a shipping container with an increased internal width: 2.44 m, compared to 2.35 m on a classic Dry. "HC" stands for High Cube: the container gains about 30 cm of height over the standard 8'6" format. "Used" refers to a reconditioned unit; a box already in service, overhauled and checked at the depot before being returned to circulation.
The combination of increased width and HC height fits 24 Euro pallets on the floor, at an accessible cost compared to the first-trip, i.e. new, model. The Corten steel box, a steel that naturally resists marine corrosion, keeps its original long HC structure. Seals, bars and the 28 mm marine plywood floor are inspected, and replaced if degraded.
In the reconditioned 40 ft HC format, the unit preserves 76 m³ usable, a 26,460 kg payload and a 2.69 m internal height. It's a proven solution for large-volume pan-European pallet distribution at an accessible cost.

The Euro pallet, the continent's standard pallet, measures 800 × 1200 mm. A classic Dry container has an internal width of 2.35 m. This width doesn't leave room to line up pallets in their most compact orientation: space is lost in every row.
The Pallet Wide widens the internal width to 2.44 m, 9 cm more. This gain is enough to fit Euro pallets with no wasted space. On a 40 ft High Cube, it allows 24 pallets on the floor; the 2.69 m HC height additionally allows light stacking, up to 48 pallets on two levels.
