What is a used 20ft Hard Top HC shipping container?
A Hard Top container is a container with a removable rigid roof: its upper section is a steel sheet that is removed by crane to load cargo from above. The "HC" designation stands for High Cube: the container gains about 30 cm of height compared with the standard 8'6" format. The "used" designation refers to a reconditioned unit; a box that has already been in service, refurbished and inspected at a depot before being put back into circulation.

Both families load from the top, by crane. The difference lies in the roof. The Open Top closes its opening with a polyester tarpaulin tensioned over metal bows. The Hard Top closes it with a rigid steel sheet locked by cleats.

It protects better: locked with cleats, it resists break-ins where a tarpaulin can simply be cut. In exchange, removing it requires a crane.
