A Half-Height container is a shipping container with a reduced exterior height: 1.295 m, versus about 2.59 m on a standard format. The Open Top variant has a soft cover; a reinforced polyester tarpaulin tensioned by straps over removable metal bows. The "first-trip" designation means it is a new unit, straight from the factory after a single positioning journey.

This format combines the load density of the half-height with full top opening: simply undo the straps and roll back the tarpaulin to free full access to the floor, without removing the cover. The new structure is built on a Corten steel box, a self-weathering steel that naturally resists marine corrosion, fully welded, and a reinforced steel floor.
